Abstract

Justice K.S. Puttaswamy (Retd.) v. Union of India (2017) is a landmark constitutional decision in which the Supreme Court of India unanimously recognized the right to privacy as a fundamental right under Articles 14, 19, and 21 of the Constitution. This article analyses the facts, reasoning, and constitutional significance of the judgment and highlights its contribution to protecting dignity, liberty, personal autonomy, and digital privacy in contemporary India.
