Abstract
Protecting industrial designs is very crucial because it boosts the creativity, innovation and business growth in today's industries. To give legal protection to the new and original designs, and also replace the old Designs Act of 1911, the Designs Act of 2000 was passed. This law aims to protect the feel and look of products and stop other people from copying them without the permission. By giving exclusive rights to owners of registered designs, the act promotes fair competition in market. This helps to encourage the people to create new and interesting designs, which can lead to business growth.
