Abstract

This paper examines Supreme Court's decision in Suresh v. State of Uttar Pradesh, 2025 in Juvenility determination in criminal proceedings. It discusses the Court's bias towards the public records and authentic medical reports in preference to private school certificates and elucidates the Juvenile Justice Rules and the Indian Evidence Act. The paper concludes that the judgment reinforces the need for authenticity in age determination, and maintains that juvenile justice protection is for real juveniles. The Constitution of India guarantee the right to life, which was interpreted in Section 8 of the Whistle Blowers Protection (Amendment) Bill, 2015 and in Article 21 of the Constitution of India.
