Abstract

This paper examines whether burnout resulting from chronic workplace stress should be recognised as a workplace injury under Indian labour law. It analyses the existing legal framework, constitutional protections, judicial precedents, and international practices to identify gaps in the recognition of work-related psychological harm. The paper argues for legal reforms to ensure greater protection of employees' mental health and workplace well-being.
