Abstract

"You never heard of a horse going broke betting on people", by Will Rogers, which states that betting can lead to addiction and then eventually to losing all the assets betted upon, leaving a person bankrupt, and even the betting animal would never be broke if given the chance of betting. Betting is such a poison to society, which controls the mind and soul of a person and induces such mental pressure of earning more money, ending up losing the money won. This article will cover the betting Rules and Regulations according to India’s legal framework, tracing its history back and the evolution of betting in modern times. It also focuses on the overall impact of betting in India.
