Abstract

The Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act stands for a crucial step toward safeguarding reproductive autonomy. Yet legal recognition alone often fails to ensure effective access, especially when it is not followed by public understanding. This article examines the gap between the documented rights and the real world public awareness. It also explores how social stigma, misinformation and limited outreach can become an interference in the informed decision making process. It proposes strategies to make the law more socially understood through educational programs to shape public narratives.
