Abstract

The Supreme Court of India has played a transformative role in shaping the country’s legal and social fabric through landmark judgments. Cases like NALSA v. Union of India and Puttaswamy v. Union of India expanded individual rights by recognizing gender identity and privacy as fundamental rights. Vishaka v. State of Rajasthan established workplace protections for women, while Kesavananda Bharati v. State of Kerala introduced the basic structure doctrine, limiting Parliament’s amending power. These rulings reflect the Court’s commitment to upholding constitutional values and ensuring justice, equality, and liberty for all citizens.
