Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the legal profession by improving legal research, contract management, dispute resolution, and judicial administration. This article examines the role of AI in the legal system from Indian and international perspectives and analyses the opportunities and challenges arising from its use. It discusses concerns relating to privacy, algorithmic bias, deepfakes, accountability, and constitutional rights, while highlighting the need for ethical governance and responsible regulation. The article concludes that AI should function as an assistive tool that enhances efficiency and access to justice without replacing human judgment, judicial discretion, and constitutional values.
