Abstract

In India, Advocates play a crucial role in upholding justice, preserving the rights of individuals & ensuring a fair legal system. We all know that advocacy is a private profession in India that is based on the client fees. As legal professionals representing clients in various matters, advocates face unique challenges and risks in the course of their work. There is no specific law for the protection of advocates in India. To fill this void in the legal system, there was a need for the Advocate Protection Act in the state. The parliament of India enacted the Advocate Act, 1961. In recent times, there has been a need for a new Advocate Protection Act & the Parliament came with new provisions for the protection of legal professionals through the Advocate (Protection) Bill, 2021. The new bill has necessary provisions for the protection of advocates but still lacking in some important issues like the protection of the advocates in the court premises.
