Abstract

The short article, "CITIZEN JOURNALISM IN INDIA: A LEGAL ANALYSIS," examines the concept and significance of citizen journalism within India's constitutional and legal framework. It explores the constitutional protection of freedom of speech and expression and its evolution through judicial precedents. Furthermore, it analyses the absence for special privileges for citizen journalists, legal boundaries, and recent incidents in India. It also discusses emerging regulatory questions concerning misinformation, individual rights, accountability, and responsible reporting, highlighting the need to balance freedom of speech and expression with lawful and ethical journalistic practices.
