Abstract

The landmark ruling of Cricket Association of Bihar v. Board of Control for Cricket in India and Ors that concerns with the application of constitutional principles and enforcement of fundamental rights against private entities like Board of Control for Cricket in India (hereon BCCI) performing public function. This case came as a result of allegations of betting and fixing in Indian Premier League (hereon IPL) that remarked as conflict of interest against BCCI and raised questions regarding the jurisdiction in such writ petition matters. The decision of the court significantly elaborated on the scope and limitation of governance of sports in India and scope of writ against the non- state forces._x000D_ Keywords: BCCI, Cricket, Betting, Non-state, reforms.
