Cyber Stalking: A Study on Victimization of Vulnerable Groups

In India, women have been revered as goddesses since ancient times. Throughout history, crimes against women have been prevalent, but in current scenario, there has been a resurgence in crimes against women, with the emergence of cybercrimes. These are the same offenses that women encounter in the physical realm (as women) but more severe criminal acts are occurring in the digital world (emotionally and psychologically). The current cyber stalking laws in the legal framework, such as, the IT act 2000, IPC 1860, and other laws are not adequate enough to cover the crime of cyber stalking, therefore there needs to be new adequate laws brought into place for this crime. This research paper will visually analyze cyber stalking crime against women in India from a lawful standpoint.
