Abstract

The paper examines the landmark judgment of Shreya Singhal v. Union of India and its significance for freedom of speech and expression in the digital age. It analyses the constitutional validity of Section 66A of the Information Technology Act, 2000, focusing on vagueness, overbreadth and reasonable restrictions under Article 19(2). The paper highlights the Court’s distinction between discussion, advocacy and incitement and its role in protecting online free speech.
