Abstract

Just Rights for Children Alliance v. S. Harish is a significant case concerning the protection of children from sexual exploitation and abuse. The case emphasizes the need for a child-centric interpretation of laws, particularly the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, to safeguard the rights, dignity, and best interests of children. It highlights the responsibility of the judiciary and law enforcement agencies to ensure effective implementation of child protection laws and to adopt a victim-sensitive approach. The judgment reinforces the constitutional commitment to protecting children from abuse and strengthening access to justice for child victims.
