Abstract

Constitution is the law governing the country but the heart of democracy is the supreme court of India, which recently celebrated 75 years of completion in 2024. Being the final court of appeal and the biggest server of justice, the supreme court is the hopes of justice for billions of Indians. It is responsible to uphold the dignity of constitution and rights of the people. The top court has always fulfilled this responsibility through unwavering dedication and numerous landmark judgements, redefining the nation and law. Started with 8 judges, the Supreme court now has 33 judges + 1 Chief justice of India. Often known as the people’s court, its judgement and verdicts become a lighthouse for the government, citizens and other courts. In this blog, some of such ground breaking landmark cases of this honorable court have been discussed.
