Abstract

Deepfake technology, driven by advances in artificial intelligence, has created significant opportunities as well as serious legal and constitutional challenges. This article examines the regulation of deepfakes in India by analyzing their impact on privacy, reputation, democratic discourse, and freedom of speech. It evaluates the limitations of the existing legal framework and advocates for a balanced, rights-oriented regulatory approach that promotes innovation while ensuring accountability, transparency, and protection of constitutional values.
