Abstract

This article explores the evolution of gender persecution from localized discrimination into a systematic Crime Against Humanity. By examining the regressive regimes in Afghanistan and Iran, it analyses the institutionalisation of silence through state-sponsored campaigns designed to eliminate female agency and existence. The narrative underscores a landmark legal shift in 2025, highlighted by aggressive ICC warrants against Taliban leadership and the pursuit of individual accountability for gender-based crimes. Finally, there is advocacy for the international codification of gender apartheid to end impunity for regimes practicing industrialized erasure.
