Abstract

A variety of complexities surround the law concerning intellectual property, even more so in recent times with tech infiltration in terms of AI, data privacy, blockchain and what not. Looking back at the Banyan Tree judgment, we see how even seemingly trifling matters with supposedly narrow interpretations can evolve into matters of great ambiguity. In the following commentary, I will be dissecting the infamous Banyan Tree Judgment and covering all the essential aspects of jurisdictional concerns with relation to IP matters as laid down in the same.
