Abstract
Sustainable development is a phrase which signifies that today's development will not jeopardise future generations. As an initiative undertaken by the government to advance an urban society, it is resulting in a development area; however, poorly planned urbanisation can result in numerous complications, as we observe the progress being made is causing the environment to face pollution. The environment is being impacted, the plants are being reduced, which could lead to a climate emergency in the future, along with traffic congestion and inadequate housing, as these factors are not contributing to the growth of sustainably developed cities. While urban development is a positive step, growth does not imply that society should be harmed through development. Therefore, from my paper, I simply wish to communicate that we must comprehend that sustainable signifies something we construct today that will also be advantageous in the future,
like affordable housing, clean water supply, clean and fresh air amenities. Nevertheless, the development is causing numerous environmental problems, as they are pursuing development yet should ensure that it does not negatively affect society and will be advantageous for the future. From the research, this will offer valuable insights to decision makers, such as lawyers aiming to enhance the efficacy of the legal framework in fostering sustainable urban development. They ought to establish rules and regulations that must be adhered to and should assist society in achieving sustainable development without harming the environment. New laws should be instituted regarding this matter.
