Abstract

JUSTICE, in its true sense, must be accessible to all not only to few people, not just promised in constitutional test. The framers of the Indian Constitution understood this well. “Article 39A” was not initially the part of the constitution but was inserted through forty-second amendment to give shape to the promise that constitution has made, directing state to make sure that every person can get justice, no matter if they are economically poor or have other disabilities . To give effect to constitutional promise National Legal Services Authority was established under the Legal Services Authority Act, 1987, and enforceable in 1955 . NALSA is a primary institutional mechanism in India that tries to help people getting justice and works to make sure that justice is not just a dream written in the constitution, but something that is real.
