Abstract

Women’s participation in the workforce continues to be shaped by deeply entrenched patriarchal attitudes that compromise safety and dignity in professional spaces. Incidents of sexual harassment at the workplace highlight a serious and persistent violation of women’s rights, often normalised within everyday discourse. This article examines workplace safety for women by outlining the significance of existing legal protections and their role in addressing harassment and ensuring dignity at work. It emphasises the importance of legal awareness, institutional responsibility, and effective enforcement in creating safer professional environments. The article argues that without accountability and collective commitment, legal safeguards risk remaining merely symbolic.
